About Me

Who am I, really? One of the strangest things about the online world is that we do not know each other. I may be anyone–knight, fair maiden, or evil dragon. Well, perhaps not that last one :) .
First thing first: I am a follower of Jesus Christ. That is by far the most important thing you need to know about me, because knowing Christ gives me strength to be who He made me to be. Because of this relationship I have as God’s special redeemed child (for more, see Worldview), I have confidence and peace to live each day, step by step, moving forward with purpose. It’s an amazing way to live, truly–and it’s the only way to live!
What else? Well, I love to read and to write. The written word dominates a large part of my life, whether in daily journaling, writing poetry, reading Jane Austen or my current favorite fantasy, composing elements of my fantasy world, or any other writing-related pursuit. I've published a few poems, as well as my debut novel, Red Sun Blue Earth. It tells the story of a teen girl who survives Japan's 2011 tsunami.
Also, I deeply enjoy any artistic pursuit, whether drawing in pencil or charcoal or pastel, painting in acrylic or gauche or oils or watercolor, molding in clay, photography, fiddling around on photoshop, and much more. Even though I nearly give up several times in the course of most projects, I love how the final result is often unexpectedly beautiful and surprising.
A few more things about me: I was born in Japan, and lived there twelve years. Much of my heart and writing are still rooted in the formal, beautiful, and natural Japanese culture. I speak Japanese and I’ll occasionally write some poetry in Japanese. Writing in another language can be difficult, because sometimes the sounds and flow are different from English. Still, I love the challenge!
I’ve also lived for five years in Singapore. The speed and pace of the city thrill me, though I also love the calm and peace of the country. Singapore is extremely beautiful, modern, and safe, so it provides an excellent area to learn and grow. Right now, I divide my time between England and the US.
I look forward to the many other journeys my future may bring me.
Enjoy reading the blog, and God bless!

    1. Wow, thank you so much for that comment! I'm so glad you like my blog!

Thanks for directing me to your blog, too. I love the color scheme and content of your site! It was very easy to navigate and very interesting to read about both of you! Quick question, though - I couldn't seem to find a Google friend connect feature to follow your blog; do you know if you have one? (I try to avoid following by email as that makes my inbox full quite quickly!) Anyway, thanks again!

  6. Greetings!

My name is Jordan Pilcher! I am also a Christian in the business of writing Christian fantasy. God has helped me get two books in my own trilogy published. I am looking to engage more in advertising my books and to help others with theirs. I have just set up a blog and do not as of yet have many followers but as I build a base I hope to do some book reviews to help fellow authors to get more visibility! To check out my blog it is at theageofornan.blogspot.com!
In closing I would like to say great blog! I appreciate that even though you want to advertise your book your focus is first on Jesus and you stress the importance of Worldview. Keep up the good work, and God bless!

  8. My name is Jason Link and I’m the author of The Legender, an epic fantasy. I'm curious if your blog has space for guest posts. I think I would be a good fit for your readers, since I too am passionate about the art of story and how it can be used for God’s kingdom.
Let me know what you think and we can set something up.
    Thanks!

    1. Thank you, Jason, for your comment! I checked out your website and I really love the cover design of your book. Its premise seems rather complicated, at least at first glance, but it is very thought-provoking to be given the opportunity to save the lives of those who would enslave you.

If you're still interested, I would love to have you write a guest post or to review your book.

      Thanks for asking!
